Frankfort – Irene H. Phillips Bingham, age 83, passed away Wednesday, February 6, 2019, in Frankfort. Services will be held at Faith Baptist Church on Monday, February 11, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Everett Hawkins officiating, assisted by Rev. Todd Lester. Burial will follow at Frankfort Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Faith Baptist Church from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Monday. Mrs. Bingham was born in Harrodsburg, Kentucky, on January 2, 1936, to the late William Phillips and Mary Elizabeth Ross Phillips. She retired from the Franklin County School Systems after serving many years as a cafeteria manager. In addition, she was a faithful and proud member of Faith Baptist Church and the Kentucky Order of the Eastern Star Hiram #93. She will fondly be remembered as a loving homemaker and a wonderful cook. She is survived by her adoring husband of 65 years, Elwood Bingham; daughters, Teresa Moore, Mary Bingham, and Paula Moore; sister, Effie Chambers; grandchildren, Sarah Moore and Cali Sills; and great-grandchildren, Oakley Sills, Ava James Moore, and Briar Kelly. She was also blessed with many special nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Elwood Bingham, Jr., and six siblings. Serving as pallbearers will be Paul Bingham, Tom Wintek, Kim Jeffries, Rachel Bunker, Crystal Middleton, and Mary Bingham. Honorary pallbearers will be Vicke Bunker, Terisa Roland, Irene Dennis, and Gerardo Benavides. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Faith Baptist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Harrod Brothers Funeral Home.
