Frankfort – Larry Wayne Smith, 70, passed away Saturday, June 19, 2021. Services will be held at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. David Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 22, 2021. Larry was born October 18, 1950, the late Lois Taylor Lilly and Clarence Smith. He was also preceded in death by his step-father, Jitter Lilly, and step-mother, Alice Smith; and siblings, Glenn Smith and Joe Smith and step-brother, Ronnie McQuerry. He is survived by his wife, Marietta Smith; sons, Steve Smith (Kelly) and Rodney Smith; brothers, Ray Smith (Bonnie), Bruce Smith, Mark Smith (Angie); step-sister, Sherry Gardner; and step-brother, Steve McQuerry, and sister-in-law, Minnie Masters and brother-in-law, Roger Masters. He was also blessed with many nieces and nephews. Larry was a graduate of Frankfort High School and worked at Fruit of the Loom for many years and K-Mart until he retired. He was an umpire for the City of Frankfort. In his spare time, he enjoyed camping, hunting, attending the UK Women’s Basketball games, and tailgating at the Frankfort High Football Games. Serving as pallbearers will be Ronnie Davis, Doug Taylor, Jr., Will Hardin, Thomas Clay, Bo Southerland, and Scott Smith. Honorary will be Doug Taylor, David Armstrong, George Heady, Joe Heady, and Tim Jumpp. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to North Frankfort Baptist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Harrod Brothers Funeral Home & Crematory.
