Frankfort - Shirley Marie Samuels Reed, age 85, passed away at home on February 2, 2022. Graveside services will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Ragland, Bishop Morton, and Rev. Green officiating. Shirley was born in Millville, Kentucky on July 4, 1936, to the late Brady Taylor Samuels and Mary Katherine Lampkins Samuels. She will be remembered dearly for her love for God, her family, her dear daughter and her friends. She is survived by her husband, Phillip Edward Reed, Jr.; her beloved daughter, Golden Faith Samuels; sister, Lelia Mae Calhoun; and by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, William Samuels, Mattie McGrapth, Dorothy Graham, and Inetta Hudspetch. Arrangements are under the direction of Harrod Brothers Funeral Home & Crematory.
