Billie Rose Hammons Hollar, 64 of Frankfort, KY passed away peacefully at home on January 5, 2015. She was born May 13, 1950 in Frankfort, Ky. Daughter of the late William Jason and Ann Joyce Warfield Hammons. Survived by 2 sisters: Claudia Joyce Morton and Gail Cloyd, preceded in death by sister Joe Ellen Eldridge and Great Granddaughter Alexandra Grace Drury. Survived by her spouse Danny Lane Hollar, 2 sons Paul Thomas Hopewell (Paige) Cleveland, GA and David Myron Hopewell (Amy) Frankfort. Step Son Kenneth Sterling Hollar(Emily) and Step Daughter Jackie Hollar both of Louisville, KY. 7 Grandchildren: Kyle and Ashley Hopewell Madison, MS, Jordan Lane Hopewell Lawrenceburg, KY, Robert Lane Hollar Louisville, Kelly Anne Weller, KY, Alec Fern, Frankfort, KY, Morgan (Russ) Drury and 1 Great Granddaughter Izzabella Laine Drury. Billie was a parishioner of Good Shepherd Church. She retired from Commonwealth Credit Union, Administrative Specialist. Life Member VFW Post 4075 Ladies Auxiliary, served as Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Past President Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 4075 Frankfort KY States largest. Began a yearly Debbie Bates Volunteer Award for person that volunteers the most time. Helped re-organized Local Voice of Democracy Scholarship. Won 1st place award for monthly publication On The Home Front. She attended and participated in Veterans service, Benediction Memorial Day service Frankfort Cemetery, Laying of the Wreath at Franklin County War Memorial monument Franklin County Courthouse and participated in planting of tree at Vietnam Memorial and other services honoring our veterans. Billie served on the 1984 Bowling Green Warren County United Way Appropriation Committee. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Reverend Bill Brown will officiate. Visitation will be at the funeral home Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. and Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour. Pall Bearers: Thomas F. Hopewell, Alec Fern, Kyle Hopewell, Jordan Hopewell, Robert Lane Hollar, Martin Duvall, Church Penn. Honorary Bearers: June Carol Barbour and Sally D. Flynn. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy of Billie''s memory are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass, 663 Teton Trail, Frankfort, KY 40601.
