Carol Brawner Frankfort " Carol Harrod Brawner, 77, of 871 Browns Ferry Road, Frankfort, passed away unexpectedly at the Frankfort Regional Medical Center on February 1, 2009 to be with her Lord and Savior. She was born to the late Ollie and Mabel Harrod of Polsgrove, Kentucky. Upon graduation Carol worked for the State of Kentucky. She then moved to Richland, Washington and was united in marriage to Charles Murray Brawner. Carol was an executive secretary while working for the Hanford Project of the Atomic Energy Products Organization in Richland, Washington during the "Cold War� years making plutonium for the atomic bomb. Carol went on to become a successful business owner with her husband of 55 years. They operated the Montgomery Ward Catalog Agency in Elizabethtown, Kentucky for several years. They went on to own/operate the original Burger Queens in numerous towns in Kentucky. The towns included Lawrenceburg, Stanford, Lancaster, Nicholasville and Munfordville. She and her husband oversaw the restaurants throughout many years throughout many name changes, last being named Dairy Queen. After retirement, Carol finally moved to the sunshine she most loved, in Cape Coral, Florida. She became active in her community and was a member of the Cast Away Boat Club, the Lady Elks, the Ft. Myers Country Club, and attended the First Baptist Church of Cape Coral, FL. She was an avid reader, a cruciverbalist, a woman who loved to fish and garden. Carol was a loving mother and a wonderful friend. She recently relocated back to Frankfort to be with her family and attended the First United Methodist Church. Carol is survived by her husband, Charles and three daughters, Jo Abbott, Lexington, KY, Brenda McEntyre, Cape Coral, FL and Becky (Bill) Breeze, Maysville, KY, and a special nephew, Stephen Frazee, Frankfort, KY. She has left behind six beautiful grandchildren, Stacy Robinson, Lori (Kelly) Larkin, Bradley Kircher, Rheanna (Randy) Emmons, Coleman Clark and Alana Breeze Abbott and six wonderful great grandchildren, Hunter Clark, Conley Horn, Tyler Robinson, Kaden Emmons, Grady Larkin and Jasmine Matthews as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by three sisters and a brother, Lloyd Harrod, Edith Howard, Helen Kurylock, and Kathleen Frazee, all of Frankfort. She was preceded in death by several siblings, Thelma Gordon, Patricia Harrod, Leslie Harrod, Edward Harrod and Margie Grimes. Services will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home at 4 p.m. There will be a two hour visitation prior to the service. The service will be officiated by Dr. Jackson Brewer and Rev. Sandra Murphree of the First United Methodist Church. There will be no graveside service.
