Donald Estes Frankfort- Services for Donald Miller Estes, 79 yrs., of Frankfort, will be conducted from Harrod Brothers Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 1, 2009. Dr. Herman Bowers and Rev. Sherman Warfield will officiate. Burial will follow at Frankfort Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, July 31, 2009 from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a Masonic Service at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, August 1, 2009 from 9 a.m. until time of service at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home. He died Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at St. Joseph Hospital, Lexington, following an illness. He was born October 7, 1929 in Cincinnati, OH, and grew up in Lancaster in Garrard County. He then moved to Frankfort in 1968 where he became very active in the Masonic Fraternity. Mr. Estes served as Master of Hiram Lodge No. 4, F&AM; High Priest of Frankfort Chapter No. 3, RAM; Illustrious Master of Frankfort Council No. 5, R&SM, and Commander of Frankfort Commandery No. 4, Knights Templar. He also was Grand Commander of the Grand Commandery of Knights Templar of Kentucky in 1989; was East Central Department Commander, Grand Encampment of Knights Templar of the United States of America in 2000-2003 and is currently serving as Chief Adept of the Kentucky Societas Rosicruciana in Civitatibus Foederatis. Mr. Estes retired from the Kentucky Department of Transportation as a Registered Highway Engineer. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Cunningham Estes; and children, Donna (Garry) Callison, Leisa Cammuse, Don Estes Jr., Richard Cammuse, all of Frankfort; grandchildren, Michelle Estes, James H. Davis, Jeffrey Callison, April Cammuse, Tiffany Sanford and Krystal Cammuse; and great grandchildren, Justin Davis, Kiera Close and Addison Sanford. He was the son of the late Ollie W. and Della Luttrell Estes. Pallbearers will be George Brooks, Ron Wise, John Feamster, Gary Thornberry, Jim Rice and Chris Smith. Honorary bearers will be William H. Thornley Jr., H. Howell Brady, Raymond Webb and J.T. Harmon.
