Frankfort - Edmond “Eddie” Milan Thompson, 75, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, March 12, 2024. Funeral services will be held at Peaks Mill Christian Church at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2024, with Bro. Ronnie McKinney and Bro. Josh Rucker officiating. Burial will follow at Peaks Mill Christian Church Cemetery. Military Honors will be observed at the graveside by VFW Post 4075. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home on Friday, March 15, 2024. Masonic Funeral Rites will be held at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will also be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. service time on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Peaks Mill Christian Church. Eddie was born in Frankfort, Kentucky on July 15, 1948, to the late Jack and Isabelle Thompson. He graduated from Franklin County High School and Mayo State Vocational–Technical College in Paintsville, Kentucky. Mr. Thompson was a member of Hiram Lodge #4 F&AM. He owned and operated L&E Repair which opened in April 1977. Mr. Thompson proudly served his country in the Navy Seabees in Vietnam with the Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 53 as a Construction Mechanic Petty Officer 3rd Class. He was loved by his wife, Marcella, and children, Ben Thompson (Lisa), Kate McCane, and Jennifer Quarles (Travis), grandchildren Taylor Thompson, Madison Thompson, Grace Perkins, Carson Greenwell, Connor Greenwell, Belle Quarles, Luke Quarles; sister Jackie Sue Phillips and brothers Tommy Thompson (Marsha) and Randy Thompson (Judy); and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Lloyd Edmond. Serving as pallbearers will be his nephews, Drew Thompson, Ross Thompson, Andy Hightower, Ryan Thompson, David Thompson, Jack Phillips, Will Phillips, and Greg Howard. Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Smither, Roger Perkins, Mike Webb, Church Penn, Jason Parido, Donnie Smither, Archie Quarles, Donald Mefford, Bruce Quarles, and Joe Wood. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Peaks Mill Christian Church Cemetery Fund. Arrangements are under the direction of Harrod Brothers Funeral Home & Crematory.
