Harry Eli Effron Frankfort- Services for Harry Eli Effron, 75, will be conducted from Harrod Brothers Memorial Chapel, on Thursday, April 10, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Frankfort Cemetery. He died peacefully Sunday, April 6, 2008 at Frankfort Regional Medical Center surrounded by family, following a long illness. Harry was born in Frankfort, KY on September 18, 1932, the only child of the late Julius and Margaret Effron. He was a graduate of Elkhorn High School and served for four years in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He retired from IBM, Lexington, after thirty years. He also owned and operated "T� Boat Marine Sales and Service for thirty-five years. Harry was known for his generous heart and helping anyone in need. He was considered a caregiver to down and out individuals who fell in his path. No one around him ever went without food or shelter. He loved dogs, children, the river, but most of all his family. In his work he was an innovator and problem solver. Harry was a member of North Fork Baptist Church, Switzer,Ky and The Masonic Lodge #4 F. & A. M. Frankfort Chapter. He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-two years, Frances C. Effron; his daughter, Cherie L. Effron, Moorpark, CA; his son, Joel M. Effron and daughter-in-law, Jennifer Diehl Effron; Frankfort; granddaughter, Lilly F. Effron; three nephews, three nieces, four greatnephews and three greatnieces. Officiating the service will be Rev. Jay Stratton and Rev. Chuck Ellestad. Pallbearers will be Tyler West, Thad West, Ray Travis, John Travis, Tim Christopher, Todd Dempsey, Troy Hayden , and Jack Borders. Honorary bearers will be Kenneth Allison, Sonny Moore, Charles Sharp, Jim Ginn, Michael G. Fitzpatrick, Chad Peach, William Taylor and Scott Ellsworth. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at Harrod Brothers Memorial Chapel from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m and Thursday, April 10, 2008, from noon until 2:00 p.m. A Masonic Service will be observed Wednesday, April 9, 2008, at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home and the Lodge will open at 7:00 p.m. Military Honors will be observed at the graveside by V.F.W. Post 4075.
