James Edward Mitchell

Frankfort - Funeral Services for James Edward Mitchell, 92 will be conducted from Immanuel Baptist church 2pm Friday. Burial will follow in the Frankfort Cemetery. Visitation is from 12 till the time of the service Friday at the Church. Mr. Mitchell passed away Wednesday March 30, 2016 in Midway, Kentucky. The service will be officiated by Rev. Chuck Queen assisted by Rev. Lisa Wood. A native of Woodford County, he was born on April 26, 1923 to the late Virgil and Margaret Hockensmith Mitchell. He was retired from South Central Bell after 37 and half years. He was a member of Hiram Lodge No. 4 FandAM, the American Legion post No. 7, the VFW Post 4075, and Telephone Pioneers. Mr. Mitchell was also the Past President and founding member of the West Frankfort Kiwanis Club and Member and Deacon of the Immanuel Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Lucille Sewell Mitchell; by three children, Linda (John) Price, of Lexington, Jamie (Roy) Tucker of Madisonville, and Paul E. Mitchell, of Frankfort; by his brothers, Joseph Mitchell of Frankfort and Leonard Mitchell, of Bowling Green; by four sisters, Christine Webster of Midway, Mary Katherine Settle of Florida, Betty Steverson of Frankfort and Juanita Willoughby, of Florida; by five grandchildren, Graham (Bernadetta) Tucker, Michael (Alison) Price, Steven (Tiffany) Tucker, Karen Price-Kraster, and Nathan (Emily) Tucker; by his great-grandchildren, Justin Tucker, Ella Price, Ford Tucker, Luke Price, Pierce Tucker and Kiersten Zimmerman; and by his special niece and nephews, Janice Gentry, Raymond Dalton and Morris L. Dalton II. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Raymond Mitchell and Virgil Mitchell, Jr. and by his sister, Corinne Carpenter. The active Pallbearers will be Graham Tucker, Steven Tucker, Nathan Tucker, Michael Price, Roy Tucker and John Price. The honorary pallbearers will be Joe Mitchell, Arvin Webster, Donald Settle, Raymond Dalton, Morris L. Dalton II and the nieces and nephews.
