Jan Beatrice Stevens

Frankfort – Jan Beatrice Stevens, 76, of Frankfort, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2025, surrounded by her loving family and grandchildren. Born October 4, 1949, in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Jan graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1967, and earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Baylor University in 1971. While at Baylor, she met her future husband, Dale Stevens, of Frankfort, Kentucky. They married in 1971, and shared 54 wonderful years together, raising three beautiful children. Jan began her career teaching Home Economics in Bruceville-Eddy, Texas, before moving to Frankfort in 1973. She later became a District Sales Manager for Avon Cosmetics, where she worked for 26 years, and earned numerous awards that allowed her to travel the world. After she retired, she volunteered for Hospice and reading camp at the Church of the Ascension. Jan was devoted to her family, her church – the Church of the Ascension in Frankfort – her beloved dogs, and her work. She leaves behind her husband, Dale; daughter, Michelle Young (Jamie); sons, Jared Stevens (Amanda) of Frankfort and Ryan Stevens (Jessica) of Lexington; and her cherished grandchildren, Andrew, Olivia, and Ella Stevens. She is also survived by her brother, Blaine Garst of Los Altos, California; nephews, Steven Key, Jonathan Key, and Corey Molck; niece, Natalie Fox; and her beloved dog, Izzy. Jan was preceded in death by her parents, Patricia and Gerald Garst; and her sister, Anne Molck. Services will be held at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home on Friday, December 12, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. with Father Peter Doddema officiating. Visitation will be at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 11, 2025. Jan’s wishes were cremation, and a private interment will take place at a later date. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the emergency room staff at St. Joseph Hospital and the University of Kentucky Hospital, as well as the Bluegrass Care Navigators at Good Samaritan Hospital, for their exceptional care. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Bluegrass Care Navigators, the Church of the Ascension in Frankfort; or the Franklin County Humane Society. Arrangements are under the direction of Harrod Brothers Funeral Home & Crematory.
