Janice Miley

Janice Miley, age 75, lovingly known as Meme, was born in London, Kentucky on December 12, 1949, to James Kenneth Bryant and Ada Creech Bryant. Janice passed away Friday, January 24, 2025. Services will be held at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home on Monday, February 3, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Dylan Quinn officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home on Monday, February 3, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. service time. Following the service a celebration of life will be held at the Choateville Ruritan Club, 880 Devils Hollow Road, Frankfort, Kentucky. Janice retired from Kentucky State Police and Chenault and Hoge Insurance. She loved and was honored to work for the state police. Janice didn’t know she liked working with insurance until she took a part-time job at Chenault and Hoge, she loved the people and work so well she ended up as a full-time employee until macular degeneration forced her to retire. A great cook, Janice loved cooking for her family, friends, and family’s friends. She loved baseball and for many years worked the Kentucky State Police Baseball Tournament as a score keeper and statistician and keeping the stats of her granddaughters’ softball games. Janice was very family oriented dearly loving her great-grandchildren babysitting them until her death. Janice was preceded by her parents; daughter, Lori Miley; son, Scott Miley; siblings, Lillian Balistereri, Shirley Underwood, and Larry Bryant as well as her beloved grandmother, Dorothy Baker Bryant and “Uncle Earl” Robert Earl Bryant whom both raised her after her mother’s death. Janice is survived by her siblings Virginia Coubert, Jim Bryant, Goldie Tolbert, and Tom Bryant; daughter-in-law and care giver Tammy Miley; grandchildren, Jessica Parrish (Cecil), Heather Houghlin (Jimmy), Tabitha Barnes, Justin Miley (Kara), Skylier Hockensmith, Matthew Miley; great-grandchildren, Gavin Mohr, Owen, Ethan, Preston, and Karlie Houghlin, Lillian, Ella, Leland, Walker, Josie, Amara, and Edward Miley; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Kevin Miley, Matthew Miley, Skylier Hockensmith, Justin Miley, Leland Miley, Walker Miley, Dylan Quinn, Andrew Hewitt, and Owen Houghlin. Arrangements are under the direction of Harrod Brothers Funeral Home & Crematory.
