Lena Mae Depp

Lena Depp Frankfort- Lena Mae (Harrod) Depp, 60, Frankfort, Kentucky, passed away Nov. 13, 2007 at home after a brave struggle with cancer. Born in Frankfort, KY to Clarence Coleman and Gladys Mae Harrod, she graduated from Franklin County High School and attended Kentucky State University. She was the Owner and Operator of Lena�s Card & Gift Shoppe in Frankfort for the last twenty years. Previously she had worked as Administrative Secretary for the Kentucky Society of Professional Engineers and Kentucky Consulting Engineers Council in Frankfort for approximately twenty years. She was a member of the Forks of Elkhorn Baptist Church. Lena was a loving wife, step-mother and grandmother, as well as a true and loyal friend. She would want this time to be remembered as a celebration of her life, a remembrance of so much love and laughter that she shared with all her family, friends, and other special people. Her exuberant personality surrounded all of us with her precious spirit. She will be dearly missed and never forgotten. She is survived by her husband of twenty-two years, Larry Depp Jr., formerly of Owensboro, KY; three step-children: Dana Faulkner and husband Bill, and children Amanda and Weston, of Louisville; David Depp of Lexington; Dianne Harris and daughter Taylor, of Alpharetta, GA; and two nephews: Clarence Thomas Harrod Jr., wife Kathy and children Thomas, Danielle and Jack Taylor; Mike Harrod, wife Cindy and son Chris Collins, daughter Haley; and a niece Donna Sharp. She was preceded in death by her parents Clarence Coleman and Gladys Mae Harrod and her brother Clarence Thomas Harrod and his wife Barbara. Honorary bearers will be Robin Hearn, Shirley Rogers, Fran Hawkins, Janice Williams and Marilyn Soyars. Visitation from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, November 16, 2007 at Forks of Elkhorn Baptist Church, Frankfort. Funeral service at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, November 17, 2007 at Forks of Elkhorn Baptist Church, followed by the committal service at Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to Forks of Elkhorn Baptist Church, 495 Duckers Rd., Midway, Ky 40347 and /or Hospice of the Bluegrass/Frankfort Office, 208 Steele St., Frankfort, Ky 40601.
