Lola Mae Hollis

Lola Hollis Frankfort- Lola Mae Hollis, age 93, passed away peacefully at Central Baptist Hospital, Lexington, on Wednesday, January 13, 2010. Lola was born September 19, 1916 in Shelby County, Kentucky. She was the daughter of Leslie and Amanda Phillips Hudson. She was retired from Union Underwear. She was a charter member of Memorial Baptist Church. Lola was a loving wife and a wonderful mother. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She especially enjoyed her springtime fishing trips and her fall trips to the Great Smokey Mountains. Lola provided a warm and loving home. Her warm smile and loving spirit will be deeply missed by everyone who was fortunate enough to have known her. She is preceded in death by her husband, William S. Hollis; daughter, Barbara Joyce Burton; brothers, J.C. Hudson, Dallas Hudson and John Ed Hudson. She is survived by her daughter, Betty Jean Sutphin, VA; her sons, Gary Wayne Hollis, Dry Ridge and Danny Dale Hollis, Waddy. "Grandma� was adored by her eleven grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren and twenty-seven great great grandchildren. A special thank you to the staff of the Beehive for the loving care and concern. Your kindness is and will always be deeply appreciated by each member of Lola�s family. We invite you to join us in the celebration of her life. Visitation will be Sunday, January 17, 2010 from 2 pm until 7 pm and the funeral will be Monday, January 18, 2010 at 10 am at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home with Rev. Gary McQuain officiating. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great grandsons. She will be laid to rest beside her husband, whose embrace she�s long awaited since his passing in 1996 at Sunset Memorial Gardens. We grieve for ourselves in the loss of a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother but are comforted knowing "to be absent from the body is to be present with the LORD�.
