Loyde Carter Thompson Frankfort- Services for Loyde Carter Thompson, 67, of Michael Blvd., will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, December 27, 2007, at Capital City Christian Church. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Woodford Co. He passed Wednesday, December 26, 2007, at his residence following a long illness. Born September 18, 1940, she was a native of Franklin County and was a graduate of Bald Knob High School and Kentucky State University. Loyde retired as an Engineer from IBM after thirty-one years of service and was also a former employee of Toyota, Georgetown, Ky. After retirement, Loyde enjoyed working with the maintenance crew at Capital City Christian Church. He was a member of Capital City Christian Church and the Crusaders Sunday School Class. He is survived by his wife of forty-seven years, Carrie Ann Gritton Thompson, Frankfort; his son, Edmond Carter Thompson (Cheryl), Ft. Thomas, Ky; his daughter, Jennifer Marie Nelson, Shelbyville; two brothers, Glenn Thompson (Irene), Frankfort, and M. Doug Thompson (Joyce), Russell, Ky; three sisters, Margaret Smalley (George), Donna Barnes (Bobby), and Sharon Banta (Tommy), all of Frankfort; a sister-in-law, Patsy Dennis (Owen), Lexington; two grandchildren, Lauren S. Thompson and Mathew C. Thompson; and several nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late Kenneth and Vivian Watkins Thompson and was preceded in death by his niece, Gina Kay Barnes Hughes. Dr. Stephen Pattison and Rev. Jon Sutphin will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Dean Dennis, David Dennis, Darrell Dennis, Jay Thompson, Scott Smalley, Joe Banta, Jake Banta and Daron Thompson. Honorary bearers will be Bob Henson, Frank Haynes, Ben Zimmerman, Jerry Terrell, George O�Connell, Doug McDaniel, Johnny Jordan, S.T. Smither, the Maintenance Men Crew of Capital City Christian Church, Crusaders Sunday School Class of Capital City Christian Church, Daryl Thompson, Pat Smalley and Mark Banta. Friends may call Thursday, December 27, 2007, 10:00 a.m. until time of service at Capital City Christian Church.
