Frankfort " Lula Mae "Lou� Cantrill Hulette, age 75, passed away peacefully after a long illness, while surrounded by her family and loved ones on Monday, October 3, 2016. Services for Lou will be held at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. David Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Frankfort Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home on Friday, October 7, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday, October 8, 2016 from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Lou was born in Frankfort, Kentucky on July 24, 1941 to the late William Grant and Maudie Mae Cloyd Smith. She was united in marriage to her husband, Harold Don Hulette, of Frankfort. She and Don spent a long and committed 28 years together. As a strong, prideful and independent mother, Lou was a waitress at Cliff Hagens. Among that, she was an inspiration to all those who knew her, continuously teaching how to be a "fighter� in such a tough world. Shakespeare�s quote, "Though she be but little, she is fierce!� could best describe Lou. She had an appreciation for the vibrant things in the world. She loved flowers, singing, and old hymns. Nothing seemed to brighten her day and lift her spirits like seeing her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She never ceased to amaze those around her. Her loving and strong legacy will live on through each of her daughters� and grandchildren�s lives. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, William "Bill� Smith, Emmitt Smith, and Harold Smith; by her sisters, Lucille Carrico and Beatrice Marie Krueger. She is survived by her husband, Don; by her daughters, Debbie Cantrill Dile and Melissa Cantrill Newton and husband Darren, all of Frankfort; by her brother, Victor Smith, of Frankfort; by her sisters, Shirley Smith Casey, of Frankfort, and Frances Smith Edwards, of Collierville, Tennessee; by her grandchildren, whom which she adored, Ryan McDowell, Nia Dile, Taylor Dile, Joshua Owens, Tyler Owens and wife Mandi, all of Frankfort. She was also blessed with two beautiful great-grandchildren, Brinley and Kennedy Owens. The family would like to personally thank Hospice of the Bluegrass for their kind-hearted and compassionate devotion. Pallbearers will be, Ryan McDowell, Joshua Owens, Tyler Owens, Darren Newton, Zak Kupchinsky, and Larry Carrico. Honorary pallbearers will be Nia Dile, Taylor Dile Mandi Owens, Brinley Owens and Kennedy Owens. Arrangements are under the direction of Harrod Brothers Funeral Home.
