Mary Joyce Games

Mary Joyce Games was called home to be with her daughters on Saturday, May 4, 2024, after a brief illness. A celebration of life service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, May 10, 2024, at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home with Bro. Rusty Fitzpatrick officiating. A private committal service will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Mary Joyce Duvall Games was a Peaks Mill High School graduate and among many things in her time there she was a cheerleader. Mary was preceded in death by her parents Woodson Bryan Duvall and Ivy Armstrong Duvall as well as her daughters Mary Hawkins, Carol Raiford, Nancy Perry, and Barbara "Janie" Games. In addition, she was preceded in death by brothers Woodson Duvall Jr, Charles Duvall, and sister Myra Schuster. She is survived by her son Scott Games (Lisa). Mary was so proud to be the grandmother of Randy Smither (Kim), Cindy Smith (RB), Sarah Hawkins (Brian Osbourne), Kelly Moore ( Brian), Kristen Raiford, John R. Raiford (Donna), David Perry ( Brandy May), Tara Perry-Deisen (Brian), Lacey Roberts (John), and Steven Games. In addition to leaving behind two siblings Graham Duvall (Anita), and Marjorie Duvall (Marvin) she leaves 12 great-grandchildren and 2 Great great grandchildren. Mary was also blessed with three much-loved son-in-laws Steve Perry, John W. Raiford, and Gordon Hawkins. Mary was a member for many years at Calvary Baptist Church as well as a Red Cross Volunteer. Mary loved her crossword puzzles and was more than a match for most at Scrabble. Mrs. Games worked for Marsh Instruments and was retired from Kentucky Teachers Retirement System. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be the ladies of the Fidelis Sunday School Class at Calvary Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Calvary Baptist Church Frankfort, The Red Cross, or the Frankfort Access Men's Shelter. A special word of thanks from her family to the nurses, techs, and staff at Lexington County Place for the exceptional care that Mrs. Games received during her time there. Arrangements are under the direction of Harrod Brothers Funeral Home & Crematory.
