Mary Joyce Chadwell

Mary Joyce Chadwell Frankfort-Services for Mary Joyce McAlister Chadwell, 74, of Frankfort and formerly of Henry Co. will be Saturday, February 24, 2007, at 1:00 p.m. at Harrod Brothers Memorial Chapel. She passed away Monday at her home after a long illness and has gone to the angels up above. Burial will be in Defoe Cemetery, Henry Co. A native of Owen County, she was born February 14, 1933. She worked as a Cafeteria Manager of the old Wilderson St. School for two years and a Manager for Good Shepherd School for a total of thirty-four years before she retired in 2004. She was also a homemaker and a wonderful and loving mother. She is survived by four sons, David Chadwell Sr., Donald Chadwell (Dawn), William Chadwell Sr., and Michael Chadwell Sr., all of Frankfort; two daughters, Brenda Mullins and Marilyn (Kaye Chadwell) Hopper (Mike), both of Frankfort; a brother, Cecil McAlsiter, Gratz, Ky; eighteen grandchildren, Christina, Chad, Lynn, Mark, Daniel, Donna, Mary Helen, Christopher, Stephen, Martha, Anna, Michele, Bill, Shawn, Michael Jr., Darron, Aaron, and Donald (Andy); twenty-four great-grandchildren, Astacia, Allyson, Jared, Maci, Nikki, Renee, Donaysha, Zarion, Taylor, Austin, Jasmine, Aryana, Diamond, McKenna, James, Shawn, Gage, Levi, Severyn, Maila, Kalem, Damien, Shaelyn and Kendrick. She was the widow of Hugh William Chadwell and was the daughter of the late Henry and Ethel Dearinger McAlister. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Gayle McAlister and Ray McAlister, and six sisters, Daphne Fisher, Mattie Cox, Daisy Lyons, Juanita Newby, Ruth Duvall and Sue McAlister. Rev.'s Doug Simpson, David Rayborn, Scott Bryan and Dr. Chuck Henderson will officiate. Pallbearers will be Lynn Downey, Mark Downey, David Chadwell Jr., Michael Chadwell Jr., Darron Chadwell, Aaron Chadwell, Donald (Andy) Chadwell, William (Bill) Chadwell Jr., Christopher Chadwell and Shawn Taylor. Honorary bearers will be Christina Chadwell, Daniel Downey, Donna Chadwell, Mary Helen Chadwell, Stephen Chadwell, Martha Hershey, Anna Mantooth, Michelle Chadwell and Steven Brown. Friends may call Thursday and Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Harrod Brothers Memorial Chapel.
