July 9, 1940 - January 18, 2019
Frankfort – Judith (Judy) Jones, wife of Silas Noel Jones, departed this life after a long illness at Baptist Health Lexington, in Lexington, Kentucky on January 18, 2019, at the age of 78. Born Judith Gail Shearer on July 9, 1940, she was preceded in death by her parents, Matthew and Lucille Lee Shearer and her brother, Wayne Shearer. Judy is survived by her husband and two sisters, Anita Burke and Karlene Reinhardt, of Frankfort, Kentucky. She also leaves behind what she believed to be her greatest gifts from God, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren: son, Matthew West (Dale Jones) of Lexington, Kentucky, daughter, Lucy West Binnall (Brent) of Sagle, Idaho, son Nathan West, of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, step-daughter, Stephanie Rhodes, and step-son, Christopher Jones, of Frankfort, Kentucky, and her eight beautiful grandchildren, Nathaniel West, Jacob West, Lexy West, Zachary Rhodes, Benjamin Rhodes, Sadie Rhodes, Micah Jones, Zella Jones, and great-grandson, Noah Matthew Yasika. She deeply loved her husband, her soulmate and anchor, and adored her children, grandchildren, and great-grandson with her whole heart. She was “Aunt Boo” to her beloved nieces and nephews and a ray of sunshine to any room or heart she graced. In 1985, Judy took early retirement from Capitol Plaza Authority as Executive Secretary to follow her husband to Ping Shuo, China, for a three-year business venture. She and Noel traveled the world and enjoyed many exotic adventures together. Judy loved life and treasured her faith in God. She began teaching Sunday School at age 14 and lived a lifetime steadfast in the work of God’s church. Judy was a member of South Frankfort Presbyterian Church where she served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher. She treasured working and worshipping with her church family. Her life-long dedication to her faith was her greatest foundation in life. There are no words for the depth of love her family will forever hold for her now or how much she will be missed. The Memorial celebrating Judy’s vibrant, beautiful spirit will be held at South Frankfort Presbyterian Church on Saturday, January 26, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Marian Taylor officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. until the service hour on Saturday. It is Judy’s final wishes in lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to South Frankfort Presbyterian Church, or Franklin Co. Humane Society. Arrangements are under the direction of Harrod Brothers Funeral Home.
