Frankfort " Helen Rose McNees Hudson, loving wife to the late Marvin "Bill� Hudson, left to be with the Lord and to join her husband and family in Heaven on January 13, 2011. She left behind her adoring son, Gary Wayne Hockensmith (Lois), Ft. Lauderdale, FL, devoted daughter, Brenda Sue Hager (Bill), loving stepson, Mike Hudson (Mary), Frankfort, stepdaughter, Lisa Duncan (Jerry), Georgetown, sister, Betty Nicholson, Lexington, grandchildren, Troy and Tyler Wilson, great grandchildren, Amber, Autumn, Jessica and Justin Wilson, step grandchildren, Evan and Noel Hudson and Jeremy and Jarrod Duncan, and several nieces and nephews. Her heart was always filled with joy for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also had a special love for her younger sister, Betty and special niece, Pam. She was born in Cynthiana, KY April 29, 1924 to the late George and Rose McNees. She attended Frankfort High School and joined the Women�s Air Corp (WACS) during World War II. Following her military service, she worked for Kroger and retired with 22 years of service. After her retirement she and her husband enjoyed traveling and fishing in Lake Okeechobee, Florida. She loved to cook for her family, especially holiday meals and she enjoyed sewing, quilting and reading. She loved to read her Bible and was a devoted Christian. She was a member of Crestwood Baptist Church and a former member of Thornhill Baptist Church. She and her husband became residents of Morning Pointe of Frankfort which she considered her home in the last years of her life. The employees and caregivers, whom she loved dearly, became a new family to her. They, too, loved her and considered her family. She acquired many new friends at Morning Pointe and enjoyed recreational activities and Bible Study with Jim and Jane. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hudson was preceded in death by her brothers, Berry, Orville and Chester McNees and son in law, Billy F. Hager. Services for Mrs. Hudson will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Hartung and Rev. Wallace Kent officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Woodford County. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday. Bearers will be Troy and Tyler Wilson, Evan and Noel Hudson and Jarrod and Jeremy Duncan. Honorary bearers will be members of Peaks Mill Baptist Church, Rev. Billy Perkins, Rev. Ray Eastman, staff and residents of Morning Pointe of Frankfort and staff of Hospice of the Bluegrass. Flowers are welcome or expressions of sympathy in her memory are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass, 208 Steele Street, Frankfort, KY 40601. Arrangements are under the direction of Harrod Brothers Funeral Home.
