Helen Kincaid

Frankfort – Helen Lucille Payton Kincaid, age 79, passed away at home after her two-and-a-half-year bravely fought battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis and Alzheimer's Disease on Monday, June 10, 2019. Services will be held at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home, Friday, June 14, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Tim Jumpp officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 13, 2019. Born January 20, 1940, in Henry County, Kentucky, Mrs. Kincaid lived a life full of determination and diligent work. On October 20, 1956, she married the love of her life and lifelong companion in all things, Thomas Lee Kincaid. For 62 beautiful years, they represented a couple full of purpose and perseverance. Despite any difficulties she faced in life, Mrs. Kincaid continued to provide for her family, guide her children, and care for a loving home. With her strong will, she was a proud breast cancer survivor. A woman of God, she was a member of the First Church of Nazarene. Mrs. Kincaid retired from Midway College after serving in food service for nearly 20 years. In her earlier years of marriage, she enjoyed caretaking and babysitting, of which she was incredibly gifted. Mrs. Kincaid obtained a selfless care for all people. She loved animals, especially dogs. Her talent for cooking was found in her ability to bring love and comfort to those who enjoyed her southern food. A loving mother, she taught her children by example, showing them the value in selflessness, organization, fortitude, and blossoming love. She is survived by her dearly loved husband, Thomas Lee Kincaid; children, Phoenix “Richard” Kincaid; Erwin Kincaid, Charles Kincaid (Jesse) and Stephania Steinberg (Matt); and by 9 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman Payton and Mary Murdock Payton; and 9 siblings, including her beloved sister, Elizabeth League. Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family wishes to extend sincere gratitude to Bluegrass Hospice Care for their love, compassion, and support shown not only to Mrs. Kincaid, but the entire family. Arrangements are under the direction of Harrod Brothers Funeral Home.
