Jerri Lynn Robinson

Jerri Lynn Heltzel Robinson, beloved wife of Michael J. Robinson, passed away peacefully at her home in Frankfort on Thursday, October 30th, 2014. Jerri believed in living life to the fullest with a smile for everyone and an infectious positive attitude. Her life was one of service and leadership. She leaves behind a legacy of love and friendship. Jerri was preceded in death by her parents, John J. and Mildred B. Heltzel. Born June 12th, 1953 in Pampa, Texas, Jerri was the much loved sister of Jeanne (Daryl) Jones of Georgetown and John (Donna) Heltzel of Lawrenceburg. Jerri was an extraordinary aunt to her niece and nephews, Kristen (Brad) Farr, Chad (Erin) Jones, Chris (Natalie) Heltzel, Justice Heltzel and Caitlin Beitel. She was the great aunt to Samantha and Kaelin Farr and adoring special aunt of Kasi Phillips and great aunt of her son, Micah. Jerri is also survived by three sisters-in-law, Mary Jo (Ray) Landers and their son, Danny Whirley, Marsha (David) Puckett and their son, Andy (Tonya) Coon, Marilynne Robinson and her daughters, Sara and Shana Robinson; and brother-in-law, Matthew (Melodie) Robinson and their daughters, Arielle and Tiffanie Robinson. Jerri believed in service to her friends and community as well as to the state and the nation. She was active in many organizations throughout her life. She began Girl Scouts in her mother''s troop, eventually earning the Gold Award. She became an active Girl Scout leader in Frankfort for over a decade teaching and training dozens of young women. Jerri earned her Bachelor of Arts from Kentucky State University and her Masters of Business Administration from Xavier University. She served as the President of the Frankfort Business and Professional Women and the National Organization of Cemetery Regulators. One of her proudest achievements was serving as a founding officer of the Capital Ovarian Cancer Organization (COCO). She served as the President of Two Creeks Property Owners Association and was an active member of the First United Methodist Church. Along with her husband, she established the Eagles and Birdies Investment Club. Jerri retired from Kentucky State Government after serving in leadership positions in the Office of the Attorney General, the Cabinet for Health and Family Services and the Department of Insurance. She was responsible for managing the development and implementation of Kentucky''s All Schedule Prescription Electronic Reporting System (KASPER) program that became a national model. Jerri loved the arts and gardening and was proud to become a Master Gardner in the Garden Club of Frankfort and an active patron of the Grand Theater. But more than anything, Jerri loved her friends, family and entertaining. She was the epitome of a modern southern lady. She lived life on her terms and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Visitation will be at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home, 312 Washington Street, Frankfort on Tuesday, November 4th and Wednesday, November 5th from 5 until 8 p.m. A memorial service will be conducted at First United Methodist Church, 211 Washington Street, Frankfort on Thursday, November 6th at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Jerri''s charity, the Capital Ovarian Cancer Organization (COCO), P.O.
