Lawrence Scott "Larry" Blevins

Lawrence Scott “Larry” Blevins, 93, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Monday, August 24, 2026. Born on June 24, 1933, to Clifford Cecil and Margaret Naomi (Nickell) Blevins, in West Liberty, KY. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Ethel Marie (Adkins) Blevins. He is survived by their children, Lawrence Michael Blevins (Michele), Patrick Larue Blevins (Sharon), and Rebecca Lynn Blevins (Scott Barrass). He also is survived by six cherished grandchildren, Elizabeth Alvey (Andrew), Shelby Hart (Luke), Hillary Flynn (Brandon), Zachary Durham (Jordan), Sarah Peach (Tristan), and Rachel Cossey (Trey), and eight great grandchildren, Baron, Evelyn, Claire, Emma, Jackson, Graham, Zoey and Wrenley. He also is survived by his sister-in-law, Judy Adkins and a special nephew, Nick Blevins. He was an avid and accomplished golfer and a faithful UK sports fan. He served his country in the U.S. Army, stationed in Bordeau, France, post WWII, as a Construction Engineer. He was a long-term member of First Christian Church, Frankfort, where he held many positions over the years. He was a graduate of Morgan County High School and the University of Kentucky, where he earned a degree in Civil Engineering (Class of 1955). While at UK, he was a member of Phi Kappa Tau fraternity. He retired from state government as the Director of the Division of Design, in the Commonwealth of Kentucky’s Department of Highways, Transportation Cabinet, with over 35 years of service. He later worked for Vaughn and Melton Engineers-Architects. Fondly known as “T Daddy,” Larry will be remembered as a kind, generous and fun-loving person who will live in our hearts forever. His legacy lives on in all who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to First Christian Church, Bluegrass Care Navigators, Frankfort Cemetery or a charity of one’s choosing. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 28, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home. There will be a graveside service, at the Frankfort Cemetery, on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Harrod Brothers Funeral Home & Crematory.
